Why Dreamhost makes it hard for this Australian to be patriotic
It’s such a great company name – because that’s exactly what they are.
I will say without doubt, they are the best web hosting company I’ve ever encountered.
But damn it. I sort of wish they weren’t.
It’d be nice to think I could be patriotic and use an Australian web host for all my site and email hosting needs.
But alas, Dreamhost keeps on reeling me in with all the goodies they offer.
The service and technical support I’ve received from them has been pretty amazing too.
I’ve found myself writing to them on numerous occasions with ridiculously over-the-top, gushing, “you guys are the superstars of web-hosting” praise.
But they deserve it.
Their live chat advice is always spot on. Any problem I’m having is fixed in a jiffy. PLUS the offer a free trial and UNLIMITED Diskspace and Bandwidth. Oh how I love thee.
I also love the way they communicate with their clients. It’s like dealing with a trusted friend – I always feel like hugging my computer screen just to say “hello” after logging into my Dreamhost web panel. They’re sort of nerdy-cute!
Here’s a snippet from some email correspondence. I was have trouble with my databases…this Dude Brian helped me out until the end….My words are the over-the-top bits in vomit-looking (and sounding) green.
So to keep my promise to Brian above, I’m telling everyone I know how amazing Dreamhost is.
If only they were here in Australia – just so I could feel less unpatriotic.
